Rabbi Lionel Yehochoua Elkaim
It warmly welcomes all types of Jews, irrespective of their sensitivity and level of religious practice, thus, our members live in harmony and in a spirit of openness and neighborly love. Our community is acutely aware of the fundamental role played by the State of Israel in the interests of world Jewry, and maintains an unbreakable link with the Promised Land.
Strongly convinced of these values, the Rabbi must be a leader. He passes his knowledge to the faithful and helps them in all their religious approaches, from birth to death. He facilitates the smooth running of prayer services, invests in the religious instruction of children, and supports youth activities.
His mindset is that of a unifier. He works closely with the co-presidents and members of the committee, to advance the communal experience by offering an authentic and enriching Judaism.
The Rabbi also guides those sincerely wishing to convert to better understand Judaism and live by its teachings.
Aware of the esteemed position held by the CILV in the life of the Canton at large, the Rabbi participates in the development of interreligious dialogue.
